Christopher McIntosh, MSW, R.S.W.
Clinical Counsellor
Hi, I’m Christopher. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to have worked in health and social care organizations across Canada, including in direct service and leadership roles. Still, my true passion has always been supporting people as they navigate life’s challenges. Returning to counselling feels like coming home, and I’m so grateful to do this work.
My approach is warm, supportive, and honest. I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where you can feel truly heard and understood as you work toward healing and growth. Together, we’ll explore your options, uncover your strengths, and find a path forward that feels meaningful and right for you.
I’m a Registered Social Worker with degrees from the University of Windsor and the University of Calgary, and I’m actively involved in volunteering both in the community and with professional regulatory bodies.
My family and I moved to Penticton a few short years ago, and we’ve quickly fallen in love with the area and its people, and we are fortunate to make it our home. When I’m not counselling, you’ll likely find me walking the local trails, downhill skiing, enjoying music and art, or exploring my admiration for photography, often capturing the stunning landscapes and vibrant life of the Okanagan.’
Counselling is an opportunity to pause the pressures of the outside world and reflect on your thoughts, feelings, needs and goals. As a counsellor, I believe in creating a caring and nonjudgmental space where you can explore the challenges of living. Engaging in counselling takes courage and can provide you with the experience of being heard and understood in a way that may have been missing from your life in the past.
My work with you will be a partnership in which I respect you as your life expert. My contribution is to help you identify self-awareness and explore options that allow you to reach your goals. I draw from evidence-informed therapeutic practices and seek to continuously learn new and evolving ways to support those I work alongside. My counselling relationships are founded upon integrity, trust, and respect for the many diverse aspects of us that make us unique.
I look forward to working with you to reach your counselling goals.
